I am a physical oceanographer at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation in Hobart, Tasmania. I earned a PhD from the university of Paris, and worked at the Research Institute for Development in New Caledonia. My research is mostly about climate variability and includes such topics as the Pacific El Nino phenomenon (its dynamics, impact on climate and fisheries and decadal variability), coastal upwelling dynamics, and more recently climate change with a particular focus on the Indian Ocean.
